About Heat Treatment
How does bed bug heat treatment work?
We raise the temperature inside your home to at least 130°F, which kills bed bugs and their eggs. Our propane-powered heater stays outside, ducting carries the hot air in, and fans move it through each room so there are no cold spots. We move furniture, mattresses and box springs as needed so heat reaches common hiding places.
Why heat instead of chemicals?
Bed bugs have built up resistance to many pesticides, and sprays often miss eggs hidden deep in furniture. Heat reaches bugs and eggs wherever they are, and it leaves no chemical residue behind.
Does heat kill bed bug eggs?
Yes. Eggs are the reason spray treatments often need repeat visits. The temperatures we reach kill eggs as well as adult bugs.
Is it safe for my family and pets?
Yes. We don’t use pesticides, so there’s nothing to air out when we’re done. People and pets stay out of the home during the treatment itself.
Do I need to throw away my mattress or furniture?
Usually not. Heat penetrates mattresses, box springs and upholstered furniture. We’ll let you know if anything can’t be saved.
Scheduling & Cost
How long does treatment take?
Most rooms take 30 minutes to an hour. A four-room home is often finished in about three hours, and most families are back home the same day.
How much does bed bug heat treatment cost?
It depends mainly on the size of your home and how many rooms need treatment. Call or send a message and we’ll give you a clear, upfront price within 24 hours, with no obligation.
Do you offer inspections?
We don’t sell separate inspections. Tell us what you’re seeing (bites, spots on the sheets, bugs or shed skins) and we’ll give you an honest read and a free estimate.
Can you come the same day?
Same-day appointments are rare. We answer 7 days a week, 7am to 8pm, and we’ll schedule the soonest time that works for you.
Is your work guaranteed?
Yes. Our treatments come with a satisfaction guarantee. Ask us for the details when you book.
Preparing & Service Area
How do I prepare for a heat treatment?
We’ll walk you through it when you book. Plan for people and pets to be out during the treatment, and set aside anything that can melt or is sensitive to heat, such as candles, crayons, aerosol cans, medications and houseplants. Please don’t move belongings to another home first, since that can spread bed bugs.
Do you treat apartments?
Yes. We treat apartments, condos, townhomes and houses. We don’t treat hotels or motels.
What areas do you serve?
Western and central Oregon: the Portland metro, Salem and the mid-valley, Eugene and Springfield, Bend and Central Oregon, Medford and Klamath Falls. See all of our service areas.
